Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council is the Local Planning Authority for all planning applications for the Parish. However, as statutory consultees, Stanton under Bardon Parish Council plays an important role in supporting or objecting to applications that affect the Parish.
All planning applications are presented at Council meetings where the Council resolves (agrees) to formally respond or not to specific applications. If you wish for the Parish Council to formally comment on an application, you are encouraged to attend a Parish Council meeting and speak during the Public Participation session to air your views or speak directly to one of your Parish Councillors. If you wish to email your Parish Councillors directly, please click here.
Whilst the Local Planning Authority may not agree with the Parish Council’s recommendations, it must consider them alongside all other comments before it decides to grant or refuse permission for the development. However please note that the Parish Council's formal comments hold no more weight than any other Parishioner when commenting on planning applications.
