Stanton-under-Bardon Parish Council

Consultation starts on improving HBBC parks and open spaces

Added at 10:31 on 28 June 2023

RESIDENTS are being given the chance to have their say on plans to improve council-maintained parks and open spaces in the borough over the next four years.

The Borough Council’s Green Spaces team has developed a new Green Space Strategy, designed to guide the work of the team by identifying a number of key themes and priorities and setting out a plan for future improvements to green spaces. The consultation can be completed by visiting www.hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk/greenspacesurvey

This includes plans to improve access to several sites and to renew play equipment and plant new trees and bulbs in a range of parks and open spaces over the next four years.

The results of the consultation, which runs until Monday 24 July at 5pm will be used by the team to ensure the plan fulfils people’s expectations for green space improvements over the next four years.

Councillor Lynda Hodgkins, Executive member responsible for Parks and Open Spaces, said: “In the ten years since previous Green Space strategy was published, the Borough Council has made considerable improvements to its own parks and open spaces and has assisted many Parish Councils to do the same through the Parish and Community Initiative fund.

“This strategy builds on these successes and maps out the improvements and changes for the next four years. It keeps this activity to the forefront of the council’s aims and ambitions, recognising the priority given to this work by those living and working in the area.

“I would encourage all residents to fill in a questionnaire and let us know what they think about the strategy.”
